Senior Embedded Flight Software Engineer
This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to join as a key player at an early-stage startup, developing advanced cost-effective spacecraft solutions for the commercial and defense space sectors.
You would be joining as a senior member of the engineering team, so this would suit someone who wants the responsibility of key design decisions and to make a big impact on the company’s future.
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be involved in the end-to-end development of the company’s products. This will include writing and testing software for spacecraft, and architecting flight software for future vehicles. You’ll be working closely with other members of the engineering/operations team as well as vendors to ensure the highest quality end results.
Location: South Bay, Los Angeles
Compensation: This position can be hired at the Senior or Technical Lead level, with a base salary ranging from $140k - $220k (depending on experience), plus generous equity!

Key requirements:
- 5+ years developing real-time embedded software systems in C/C++
- Space or similar regulated industry experience preferred - Aerospace, Defense, SatCom, UAV, Avionics
- Microcontroller development
- Developing hardware drivers using protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS485
- A keen interest in the space industry is key!
- STM32 microcontrollers with FreeRTOS
- Working directly on a flight software team
- Developing code for spacecraft
- Experience working with closed-loop HITL (Hardware In The Loop) test setups
- Comfortable wiring and debugging electronics
- Experience developing HDL for FPGAs for real-time Linus application
