IT Operations Administrator

IT Operations Administrator for leading Investment Management Group 

5 days a week in Piccadilly Office - Central London

Pays up to £55,000 per annum 

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, your primarily objectives are to support the infrastructure including servers, networking, telephony and security systems and the continuous evolution of the business function.

Main Activities

•Day-to-day system administration of the servers, databases and communication systems, storage systems and operating systems. 
•Monitor the performance and availability of hardware and software 
•Work with hardware, software, backup and virtualization technologies
•Work with LAN/WAN infrastructure, resolve connectivity issues, and vendor escalation.
•Security to protect the hardware, software and information resources from unauthorized access, tampering or physical damage.
•Firewalls, anti-virus software, Active Directory and Exchange
•Patch management and new system installations for Windows servers and desktops
•Configuration Management of server builds, network appliances and other infrastructure components
•Scheduling of hardware maintenance activities and system tests 
•Update departmental policies and procedures.
•User support, assistance and training

Candidate Profile

A degree in Information Tech is desired but not essential. You'll have experience with : 

•Microsoft Azure and Office 365
•Microsoft technologies on Active Directory and Exchange
•Knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure and Cisco networking
•Knowledge of current network protocols and standards including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP &SNMP
•Firewalls ideally SonicWALL skills
•NetApp SAN
•VMware administration

•Strong in both oral and written English
•Experience of drafting clear and comprehensive documentation to support technical implementation and administration processes
•Understanding and experience of IT industry change control processes
