L3 Senior Storage Operations Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced L3 Senior Storage Operations Engineer to enhance our mission-critical environments. You’ll handle advanced incident troubleshooting, performance tuning, and operational excellence across modern storage platforms.

What you’ll do

• Own L3 incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem management for storage services
• Operate, optimize, and lifecycle-manage enterprise storage platforms
• Drive stability and resilience through automation, monitoring, and runbooks
• Collaborate closely with the platform, Linux, Kubernetes, and network/security teams
• Contribute to change/release processes and compliance within secured environments

Must-have skills

• Solid L3 experience in Storage Operations (production, environments)
• NetApp ONTAP (Clustered/C-mode): admin, troubleshooting, performance, snapshots/replication, quotas, export policies
• One of the following: Ceph (RADOS, RBD, CephFS, CRUSH, pools/PGs, rebalancing, tuning) and/or
• Strong Linux & Kubernetes (Day-2 ops, storage classes/CSI, PV/PVC, troubleshooting I/O & performance)
• Deep incident/problem management (RCA, post-mortems, runbooks)
• Scripting/automation for ops (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible, REST/ONTAP/CSI where applicable)
• Fluent English (spoken & written)

Eligibility & compliance

• Based in Germany (or willing to relocate)
• German or EU citizenship required due to clearance & contractual constraints
• Existing German security clearance (e.g., Ü2) or clear path/eligibility to obtain it

Nice to have

• SAN/NAS protocols (iSCSI, NFS, SMB), zoning & multipathing
• Performance tuning (latency, throughput, IOPS, caching) and capacity planning
• Observability (Prometheus/Grafana/ELK), backup & DR design/runbooks
• Experience in regulated/sovereign or high-security environments
