Rate: Up to £1,200 per day (Inside IR35, via Umbrella)

Role Overview: As a Senior Low Latency Java Developer, you will be a key player in the development of their new cash equities trading platform. We are seeking a Java expert with in-depth knowledge of Java, the JVM (Java Virtual Machine), garbage collection, and data structures. You will be responsible for crafting low latency Java code and showcasing your proficiency in performance optimization techniques. Working closely with a team of seasoned developers who value collaborative design, your contributions will be instrumental in shaping a system that will underpin Cash and Electronic trading for years to come.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of the low latency trading system.
• Collaborate on DevOps and production support
• Uphold high standards of code quality
• Develop a robust system/API connecting multiple trading components for long-term use
• Meet demanding performance and latency requirements

Essential Candidate Requirements:

• Proficiency in core Java
• Knowledge of zero garbage collection (GC) architectures
• Experience in low latency systems
• Strong grasp of collections, including their implementation and optimization
• Exceptional code quality standards

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Understanding of Cash Equities trading
• Familiarity with Aeron
• Familiarity with SBE (Simple Binary Encoding)

Additional Information: You are an effective communicator, comfortable interacting with Sales/Trading Desks and internal Technology teams at various levels of detail. You will be responsible for all development phases, from gathering requirements to implementation, building trust through your proven track record of successful delivery.
