We’re looking for a Principal Data Scientist to lead the design and deployment of cutting-edge AI systems that power real-time customer decisioning.
This role sits at the intersection of machine learning, product, and platform engineering driving how millions of users experience personalised content, rewards, and engagement in real time. You’ll operate with high autonomy and influence, owning complex AI initiatives end-to-end while setting the technical direction for AI across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
- Own end-to-end AI solutions
From problem framing → model design → production deployment → continuous optimisation - Design real-time ML systems at scale
Build high-performance AI applications that deliver the right action, to the right user, at the right moment - Set technical direction
Define and drive the AI roadmap, balancing innovation with tangible business impact - Lead through influence & mentorship
Elevate a team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers through hands-on guidance and technical leadership - Drive innovation (without hype)
Evaluate emerging AI techniques and translate them into practical, production-ready solutions - Partner with product & business stakeholders
Turn ambiguous problems into scalable, data-driven solutions that directly impact revenue and user experience
What you bring.
- 8 years building and deploying ML/AI solutions in production (Python ecosystem)
- Strong experience designing real-time or near real-time ML systems
- Deep expertise in at least one of:
- Recommendation systems
- Time-series modelling
- Reinforcement learning
- Graph-based learning
- Proven ability to take models from research → production → scale
- Strong understanding of MLOps, model evaluation, and lifecycle optimisation
- Excellent communication , able to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Competitive salary: €55,000 – €65,000
- Performance bonus: up to 22%
- KGI card: €500 per month (tax-efficient benefits)
- Flexible working model:
- Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite (Athens or Thessaloniki)
- Fully remote if based 50km from either office
- No visa sponsorship available
