Role: Cloud System Engineering
Location: Northeast Germany (95% Remote / 5% Onsite)
Travel: ~5%
Start: Immediate

Overview
An energy-sector organisation is seeking a mid-level Cloud System Engineer to support the development, optimisation, and operation of cloud-based infrastructure within a hybrid environment. The role focuses on cloud platform engineering, automation, systems reliability, and ongoing improvements to operational cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS).
- Support cloud workload migrations, modernisation tasks, and system optimisation.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or other IaC tools.
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD automation pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab).
- Manage system reliability, performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities.
- Implement and maintain cloud security, IAM, networking, and governance best practices.
- Contribute to operational documentation and ensure efficient knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, architecture, and security teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years’ experience in cloud or systems engineering roles.
- Practical experience with Azure, AWS, or multi-cloud environments.
- Strong competency with Terraform or similar IaC tooling.
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD concepts.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles, identity management, and networking.
- Experience supporting production-grade environments and incident resolution.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in energy, utilities, or other regulated/critical infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks and monitoring/observability tooling.
- German language skills (beneficial but not essential).
