Overview
Our client, a leading organization in the global shipping industry, is seeking a Data Engineering Consultant to support the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. The successful candidate will help enhance data-driven decision-making across operations, fleet management, logistics, and commercial functions.
Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process operational, IoT, and logistics data.

Develop and optimize data models to support analytics, forecasting, and reporting use cases.

Integrate data from vessel management systems, port systems, and external maritime data sources.

Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are followed.

Advise on architecture improvements, cloud solutions, and tooling enhancements.
Requirements

Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Data Engineering Consultant.

Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data pipeline frameworks (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Kafka).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

Exposure to streaming/real-time data processing is a plus.

Background in shipping, maritime, supply chain, or transport logistics preferred.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
