Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable cloud-native data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS-based data engineering, infrastructure-as-code, and modern data architecture patterns.
You will work closely with data architects, analytics teams, and platform engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and governed data solutions that support enterprise analytics and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud-native data pipelines and data platforms using AWS services.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
- Build scalable data workflows using AWS Glue and AWS Lambda.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance in line with enterprise standards.
- Optimize data processing performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Work with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and platform engineers.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines.
- Contribute to the design of data lake / lakehouse architectures.
- Document architecture, pipelines, and operational processes.
- 5–9 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services, particularly:
- Glue
- Lambda
- S3
- IAM
- Step Functions (preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Scala.
- Experience building cloud-native data pipelines and distributed data processing systems.
- Understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and data lake architectures.
- Experience implementing data governance, security, and access control in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
- Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Step Functions).
- Knowledge of streaming data platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
- Experience working in enterprise-scale cloud environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and platform engineering.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics or Solutions Architect).
