Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support and evolve our shared technology platforms that enable development teams to build, deploy, and operate services efficiently.
The role focuses on platform operations, reliability, and automation, ensuring our internal platforms remain scalable, resilient, and easy to use. The successful candidate will help balance platform standardisation with the flexibility required by business teams, enabling faster and more reliable software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and support shared engineering platforms used by multiple development teams.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, and performance through automation and operational best practices.
- Design and implement self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes.
- Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and service reliability improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure platform capabilities align with business and product needs.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting across platform services.
- Drive standardisation of tooling and environments while maintaining flexibility for different workloads.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and platform deployment processes.
- Maintain documentation and operational runbooks.
- 6–10 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Strong experience supporting shared engineering platforms or internal developer platforms.
- Proven experience with platform operations and reliability engineering practices.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
- Ability to work across teams to align platform standards with business needs.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
- Experience building internal developer platforms (IDP).
- Experience implementing platform governance and operational best practices.
