Product Manager – Payments & Risk

Summary

As a Product Manager specialising in Payments & Risk, responsible for designing, optimising, and overseeing payment-related risk products across the customer journey, including deposits, withdrawals, payment service provider (PSP) integrations, KYC processes, and fraud prevention. Working closely with Payments, Compliance, Risk, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver a secure, compliant, and efficient payments ecosystem while enhancing the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owned the end-to-end product lifecycle for Payments & Risk, including PSP integrations, payment flows, conversion optimisation, risk controls, automated withdrawals, fraud monitoring, and chargeback management.
  • Led the delivery of initiatives focused on payment optimisation, risk reduction, fraud prevention, and operational efficiency.
  • Partnered with payment providers to ensure robust risk management, compliance, and security requirements were embedded within integrations.
  • Defined and monitored KPIs including payment success rates, failure rates, fraud metrics, chargebacks, risk exposure, and withdrawal performance.
  • Identified and prioritised opportunities to automate and improve payment processing and risk management workflows.
  • Collaborated with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Supported expansion into new markets by assessing payment solutions and risk considerations for new products and launches.
  • Worked closely with Customer Support and Operations teams to identify customer pain points and improve payment experiences without compromising fraud controls.
  • Contributed to strategic planning, roadmap development, and long-term Payments & Risk product strategy.
  • Managed and developed team members, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.

Skills & Expertise

  • Product Management within the online gaming, gambling, fintech, or payments sectors.
  • Payment methods including card acquiring, e-wallets, digital wallets, open banking, vouchers, and alternative payment methods.
  • PSP integrations, payment flows, settlements, and risk management frameworks.
  • Fraud prevention, KYC/AML processes, chargeback management, and transaction monitoring.
  • API integrations, data flows, and technical product delivery.
  • Regulatory compliance within gaming, fintech, or financial services environments.
  • Stakeholder management across business, technical, operational, and compliance functions.
  • Data-driven decision making, KPI development, and performance analysis.
