Senior Platform Engineer

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our SaaS applications. You’ll focus on Azure, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices to support scalable deployments, high availability, and strong security posture. You'll work closely with software engineering teams to create self-service tooling, CI/CD pipelines, observability systems, and automation frameworks — enabling developers to ship quickly and confidently.

This is a hands-on, senior-level position, ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for public sector innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and operate cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, leveraging services like AKS, Azure SQL, Virtual Networks, Redis, and more.

• Lead the implementation and management of Kubernetes clusters, including CRDs, Helm charts, operators, and production-grade operations.

• Build and maintain self-service platform tooling and developer portals using tools like Backstage, Port, or similar.

• Containerize applications following best practices, optimizing Dockerfiles and deployment strategies.

• Spearhead application modernization and lift-and-shift migration efforts into cloud-native environments.

• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Own and evolve our CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

• Enhance system observability with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Application Insights.

• Collaborate with security, compliance, and DevOps teams to ensure environments meet regulatory and policy standards.
