Overview

Our client is a growing organisation in the finance space, seeking an experienced SAP FI Consultant with a strong technical development background. This role will work closely with finance stakeholders and technical teams to design, develop, and optimise SAP FI solutions across core financial processes.

The ideal candidate combines deep functional knowledge of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) with hands-on experience in SAP technical development, enabling them to bridge business requirements and system implementation effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and enhance SAP FI solutions (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Banking, Tax, etc.)

• Translate finance and business requirements into technical SAP solutions

• Develop and customise SAP FI objects, including enhancements, reports, interfaces, and workflows

• Work on technical development using ABAP (including debugging and code reviews)

• Collaborate with finance teams, SAP architects, and integration partners

• Support integrations between SAP FI and other SAP modules (e.g. CO, MM, SD) and third-party systems

• Lead or contribute to system upgrades, rollouts, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Provide production support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis

• Create and maintain functional and technical documentation

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience as an SAP FI Consultant

• In-depth knowledge of SAP FI configuration and finance processes

• Proven technical development background within SAP

• Solid ABAP development experience (reports, enhancements, user exits, BAdIs)

• Experience working in finance-focused or regulated environments

• Strong understanding of end-to-end financial flows in SAP

• Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team

• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience

• Fluent English (additional European languages a plus)

Nice to Have

• Experience with S/4HANA Finance

• Exposure to SAP CO or other SAP modules

• Experience with SAP integrations, APIs, or middleware

• Background in financial services or fintech environments

• Prior experience working in fully remote, international teams
