Job Description
- The assignment is highly collaborative, particularly at the outset. Decisions regarding project structure and execution will be made jointly on a daily basis to ensure alignment with all stakeholders.
- Over time, less frequent alignment will be required as the project progresses.
- The position is initially envisioned as a temporary external resource, serving to bridge the gap until a permanent internal solution is found. If suitable, the selected candidate may have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Work with the Digital Service Center to identify pain points; deliver a comprehensive pain point map.
- Gather and document all available and involved applications, core services, and assets—resulting in a core service and asset register (including foundational Siemens-level services).
- Support identification and design of optimal operational workflows; deliver improved workflow designs.
- Link pain points to workflow improvements, generating detailed requirement breakdowns.
- Develop architectural concepts across multiple systems and solutions, describing the target state for design and operations; deliver operational blueprints.
- Within the “Autonomous Buildings” program, apply these blueprints to specific use cases and deliver applied blueprints per use case.
- Provide strategic guidance and a holistic “north star” vision for how systems should evolve operationally, creating a foundation for future development.
- Additional work packages may be identified as the collaboration progresses.
Candidate Profile
- Seasoned solution architect with comprehensive experience in development, product architecture, and system/solution architecture.
- Deep focus on cloud domain; understanding of on-premises environments and embedded control systems (esp. building automation).
- Proven track record in managing complex systems at enterprise scale, preferably within large organizations.
- Skilled facilitator able to operate effectively at both management and architectural levels.
- Comfortable with global project set-ups; fluent English is mandatory, German is optional.
- Previous experience with remote and on-premises work environments is required. Initial phase will require more onsite collaboration in Zug, Switzerland, gradually shifting to a primarily remote setup with occasional onsite meetings.
