Overview:
Our client is developing a large-scale Data Lake on Azure Databricks and is expanding their Data Engineering team. They are looking for a skilled Freelance Data Engineer to join the project. This role offers the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge data platform used across Europe, collaborating with experienced professionals in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable data platforms and ETL pipelines on Azure Databricks.
  • Define and implement data architecture and best practices for large-scale distributed systems.
  • Build and maintain robust data models to support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, performant, and maintainable data engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency, governance, and security.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Architecture.
  • Proven expertise in Apache Spark and Azure Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of data platform design, data modeling, and data system architecture.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — prior experience in a lead or senior data engineering role is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
