The energy transition means that we have more work coming our way than ever. Making energy sources more sustainable leads to a wide variety in supply and demand, with the challenge of maintaining high supply reliability. Increasing electrification leads to congestion in the grids, which means that new customers cannot be connected and existing customers cannot grow. Our strategic task is therefore clear: expand the energy grid as quickly as possible and ensure that the available space on the energy grid is used optimally.

In order to achieve the necessary acceleration, we're is investing heavily in the digitisation of its activities. This task requires major changes from the organization in the form of adapted processes, data flows, applications and technologies. Digitizing together is the vision of the IT department and we have made the transition to an agile working method in recent years.

Well, we can't do the energy transition alone and we know one thing for sure: the importance of and the demand for data is only increasing. To achieve this ambition, we are developing a state-of-the-art data platform, based on Cloud technology. We are also taking the step towards a decentralized interpretation of data capability. And in the meantime, the shop remains open and the number of requests for data products is increasing. In short: work to be done.

And for that 'shop' we are looking for a Solution Architect Data. As a Solution Architect Data, you are responsible for the tactical quality of the solution within your domain. That is primarily the Agile Release Train (ART) Smart Data Solutions. And: if we decentralize, your playing field will move to multiple ARTs, of which the data capability is an integral part. Just like the agile teams, which are currently still housed in the ART Smart Data Solutions. The organization is on the move, never a dull moment!

As a Solution Architect, together with your colleague Solution Architect, you are the technical conscience of the ART and you advise on the right solution direction. You will work closely with the Product Manager, Release Train Engineer and People Developer. You will lead the ART and together with the Product Manager you will determine the roadmap for the ART. Your focus will be on the architectural runway and elements such as enabling work, preventing (and healing) technical debt and lifecycle management. You are well able to bring together the interests of Solution Architecture with the interests of the organization. With your enthusiasm and architectural vision, you will then also know how to get the agile teams moving.

What makes you our new Solution Architect?

As an analytical thinker, you effortlessly recognize the core and connections in complex issues. You have a proactive and decisive attitude, combined with excellent conceptual thinking skills. This way, you always work one step ahead and you succeed in getting the agile teams to make faster decisions and come up with innovative, robust solutions.

You are not only communicative, but also a real team player. For you, the content is central and you don't shy away from a good dose of humor. You are familiar with the agile philosophy. You have a command of the Dutch and English language at a minimum B2 level. Of course you are motivated and eager to learn to gain knowledge and experience. And further:

• You have a WO working and thinking level in a relevant field such as Information Technology, or (Business) Informatics,
• You have demonstrable experience (at least 3 years) as a system or solution architect.
• You have a proven track record in the data domain and are familiar with various types of databases, such as time-series, graph, document store and relational databases. You also have experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD),
• You are technically skilled, including in the areas of: Cloud services (preferably Azure), integration patterns and/or data integration tools (such as Informatica or Azure Data Factory) and streaming data platforms (such as Apache Kafka and Azure Event Hub) & Compute platforms (e.g. Apache Spark and Databricks), data modeling techniques (preferably Data Vault and dimensional modeling) and setting up data processing processes within a data lake or data warehouse environment.
• Experience in setting up and organizing Data mesh/Data fabric concepts
• Data modeling techniques, preferably Data Vault
• Setting up data processing processes within a data lake or data warehouse environment
• You have experience with Agile working in an environment that digitizes, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Archimate and process modeling (BPMN).
