We are looking for a hands-on Databricks Architect to lead the design and build of next-generation data and AI platforms. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and who thrives in greenfield environments where platforms are built from the ground up.
You will play a key role in architecting and implementing scalable data platforms on Databricks Intelligence Platform within AWS, partnering closely with engineering teams, business leaders, and AI/ML stakeholders to drive data-driven innovation.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring someone who can operate both strategically and hands-on, guiding architecture decisions while also contributing directly to engineering and platform development.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build modern data platforms on the Databricks Intelligence Platform from the ground up.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines and lakehouse architectures within AWS.
- Work closely with data engineering, ML, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into robust platform solutions.
- Drive greenfield platform initiatives, establishing architecture standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
- Contribute hands-on to development, including pipeline design, platform configuration, and performance optimization.
- Enable advanced analytics and AI use cases by supporting data engineering, machine learning, and AI workloads.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across technology and business teams to define the long-term data and AI strategy.
- Mentor engineers and help establish strong engineering standards across the data platform.
Required Experience
- Proven experience designing and building platforms using the Databricks Intelligence Platform.
- Strong background in software engineering, with the ability to architect and build systems from first principles.
- Demonstrated success working on greenfield data platform projects.
- Hands-on experience with data engineering, distributed data processing, and scalable data architectures.
- Deep experience working in AWS environments.
- Experience supporting AI/ML workloads and data platforms that enable machine learning pipelines.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across engineering, product, and leadership teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence architectural decisions.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing Lakehouse architectures on Databricks.
- Experience enabling GenAI or advanced ML workloads on data platforms.
- Previous experience working in high-growth or rapidly scaling technology environments.
- Mass Media experience
