Senior Python Developer – Trading Systems
Location: Houston
Onsite Requirement: 5 days per week
Duration: 12 months + extension
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with deep trading domain expertise to join a high-performing technology team supporting large-scale futures trading systems. This role requires strong hands-on engineering capabilities combined with strong knowledge of trading workflows, risk systems, and quantitative infrastructure.
You will play a critical role in designing and building scalable risk, position management, and back-testing services that support enterprise-grade trading operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance high-performance Python-based trading services
- Implement scalable risk management, position management, and back-testing systems for large futures trading environments
- Develop distributed systems deployed in cloud-native environments
- Optimize services for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Manage and orchestrate containerized workloads using Kubernetes
- Partner closely with traders, quants, and stakeholders to translate trading requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Ensure robust testing, monitoring, and production stability
Required Experience
- Strong Python development experience in production trading environments
- Deep domain knowledge of trading systems, specifically futures markets
- Proven experience implementing risk, position, and back-test services at scale
- Strong experience with AWS (cloud architecture, deployment, scaling, infrastructure management)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including pod management and container orchestration
- Experience building distributed, high-availability systems
- Strong understanding of system performance tuning and optimization
Preferred Experience
- Experience working within large futures or commodities trading platforms
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and real-time market data systems
- Background in high-performance or low-latency systems
